Club Rothaíochta Na Sionainna are hosting our annual cycle sportif in less than two weeks time. It's our third time hosting such a cycle for Ethan and MPS. The committee (Neil Gillespie, James Bullman, Dermot Dunne, Anthony Boyle and myself) have been meeting over the past several months to plan what we hope will be a great event.
Conscious of the fact that GoTri and sister club members are so often looked to to help out with the ambitious range of events the clubs host, we're asking people to 'go to the well' one more time.
Your help is sought in the following areas:
1. Event participation
We need asses on saddles. Please consider signing up (https://goo.gl/X7A3UY) and rope some family and friends into doing so also. The 30km route is intended to make the event accessible to everyone.
2. Event Marshalling
Anthony is taking point on coordinating marshals for both routes on the day. We feel the 30km route will be best marshalled by experienced cyclists on their bikes.
There are some key junctions on the 75km route that we will need to have marshals in position for.
Might you be in a position to assist with this?
3. Event registration
James is taking care of registration on the morning / payment / cycling Ireland one day licence issuing. We will probably need a couple of people in the clubhouse to help with this.
4. Event catering
Neils area - We're hoping to have a good party atmosphere back at the clubhouse to welcome riders home. Ethans aunt Lorraine owns La Cuchina and has offered to provide food for the post cycle party (there's motivation for you!). We are hoping to have up to 200 participants on the day so will need to supplement what Lorraine might bring with the usual trays of sandwiches and desserts that this group is famous for. If people were in a position to bring something along on the day it would be fantastic.
5. Event promotion
We need to get word out that the event is taking place. We're going to be sharing the bejesus out of event posters and registration link in the coming days. If you might consider sharing them along it would be much appreciated.
Let us know if you're in a position to help in any of the above areas with comments below.
Thanks in advance,
Cycle for Ethan and MPS committee
