We are a team of cyclists, runners, swimmers and adventure athletes who train to compete in various races for fun, health and competition. It is not all about chasing victory, as the true victory is taking the first step. We aim to inspire, develop and empower all our club members to aim higher.

What’s a triathlon?

A triathlon consists of a swimming, cycling & running section (in this order). The triathlon season in Ireland usually runs from April till September & offers events with a pool swim as well as open water events, utilizing rivers, lakes or the ocean for the swim section. What distance is a triathlon?
There are different triathlon distances to suit every fitness level:

Try-a-Tri: 250m swim, 6km cycle, 3km run
Sprint : 750m swim, 20km cycle, 5km run
Standard: 1500m swim, 40km cycle, 10km run
Middle: 1900m swim, 90km cycle, 21.1km run
Long : 3800m swim, 180k cycle, 42.2k run

How can I get started?
The easiest way to get started is to join one of our training sessions. You’re welcome to participate in a session free of charge to see whether you like it.
GoTri offers a variety of training options – group running sessions, spinning & road cycling options as well as swim training in cooperation with Shannon Masters swim club.
