A large number of athletes form GoTri made their season debut today at the Annual Limerick Duathlon and many started the way they finished the last season .. on the podium.
Congrats to Becky Coughlan who won the ladies race and to Cillian Tierney 3rd male overall.
Erin O'Donoghue and newywed Lisa Tierney were crowned age group winners and some other athletes saw massive improvements on last years season opener proving the Winter work is starting to pay off.
Great club spirit today and support from spectators and racers for all competitors...well done to new member Niamh Laffan (Joe Laffan sister) on her first duathlon as a Gotri member and for Luke O Neill finishing his first senior race.
Next main focus is the Banner duathlon on March 6th which is our opportunity to showcase our club & clubhouse. We nee all hands on deck to help our race director Aoife and her team to ensure this is a success and also the fact is it a National Series race we need to ensure the professionalism of the club is maintained just like we see when we visit other club races throughout the country.
The adventure racers are beginining to taper down for The Race in Donegal on March 5th so if the boys are starting to get moody just smile and remind them how it will be all worth it when they cross the line after 250k.
